I am really interested to see how she deals with Casca, who knows what Griffith has done and can challenge her view of him. How she will react when the mask slips and if she finds out about the eclipse, and that the storybook prince who saved the world doesn’t care about her.

I love berserk because it helped me face my survivors guilt when I was pretty young and even had my own "black swordsman" mask. Edgy analogy I know but when I survived an accident and sickness but I lost my first best friend during the accident. I relate to guts bc I used (still am a bit) to be cold and pushed away my loved ones. The panel about the sword that has begun to break broke me and finally started to open up to my loved ones. I thought that this story was about Grunbeld's humanity before he turned into an Apostle. About how he met Benedicte, forming somewhat of a sibling or parental bond with her, and having to tragically sacrifice her in order to live on. While i kind of did get that whole Grunbeld's origin before he became an apostle, i was not prepared for the absolute gore-fest and... Dong description.

my favourite is the spread in the first chapter of conviction where guts swings the dragonslayer forth above jill's head i specifically have the 5th deluxe edition, that page turn into that spread into the next page feels like a fliporama on bath salts the aggressive stream of curving hatched diagonal line work and the FX following the dragonslayer doesnt just guide me to the panel on the top right and the ones following down, it looms over me in my peripheral vision as i process those 4 eastmost panels, and then the next page turn hits like an armoured truck and again in the spread itself, guts' cape and the base of the dragonslayer being in the central crease gives them a unique motion of their own, the cape's lines acting as a guide towards jill so i can either experience the whole motion over again (especially since the wind is hitting jill in that very moment) or turn the page its so cool

Casca's dream is the best thing put on paper ever. This is the highest peak berserk could have reached. Kenturo Miura you GOAT.

What I love about this chapter is the dragonslayer dull blade with cracks representing Guts is in his breaking point. Godo is not only the master of forging weapons but also as a wise therapist. Reforge the dragonslayer into a original state and “reforge” to Guts to pull himself together.
